How well does this mathematical model mimic the cells properties?

I'm been fascinated by the cells ability to self replicate itself. I
made this binary cell model as an mathematical attempt to mimic the
binary division process that occurs in biological cells. This
presentation is a shortened version of this model - a more formal (and
probably more boring) presentation can be found at my home site (follow
the link on the presentation site if you want to go there). The
starting point is next to trivial but I urge you to continue watch the
flash video to the end and not be fooled by the simplicity at the
beginning.
