John, you surprise me with your erudition and imagination. I hadn't
expected it from you.

Still, your clever reply would have been so much more elegant without
the reference to Beckett and the citation -- you should simply assume
that we all, too, are literate and would get the allusion. Also, you
should have called them Vladimir and Estragon (or, better, Didi and
Gogo) rather than refer to them as "the tramps."
