You said,
I just don't see any way that all that functionality can
be provided abiotically, even if the sun is shining on
everyone.
But I say that is what life is. What is it but a reaction
to the sun. That is the function of life. To exist in this
environment.
What do you think it is?
To exist in the environment in which it finds itself and to
spread to new environments. On the surface in the sunlight
or deep underground. I don't know for sure where it started,
but I am glad it spread to the surface, thus making sun-lovers
like me possible.
