Yes indeed. Many beard colours can appear! The article states,
"Arguably the simplest recognition system is a conspicuous, heritable
tag, such as a green beard. Despite the fact that such genes have been
reported, the 'green beard effect' has often been dismissed because it
is unlikely that a single gene can code for altruism and a recognizable
tag." But if you have loosely coupled separate genes, say blond hair
and blue eyes, then presto we have the blond haired and blue eyed
effect. Other "groups" have their recognition tags. I can understand
why you gave this no comment Jim.
