Re: Neanderthal vs Cro-Magnon

In other posts it has been said that:
"the number of "inter-breedings" between the time
Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon most likely co-habitated and the present
time would have wiped out any traces of Neanderthal mtDNA from today's
humans."

The initial data contained no mtDNA from neandertals. There then was a
nice paper by Nordborg explaining why only large contributions of
Neandertal DNA could be statistically excluded (under a siimple neutral
model). Since then more work has been done. Take a look at this paper:

Neanderthals during Their Range Expansion into Europe. PLoS Biol 2(12):

(I'll admit that I don't follow this particular debate closely.)

But in any case, you can be certain that mine is not a scientific
approach, cause I have no academic training whatsoever.
I'm just a freak that came out with a crazy theory that would explain
the origins of Humans and who is wishing that someone will prove me
wrong, so I can forget about it.
But so far, not such luck.

Hello from Spain,

I've written a post about the Neanderthals that are in all of us, and
if you ever get to read it, I would beg for your invaluable opinion.

I'm confused by that statement, in light of evidence that shows that
the DNA profiles of Cro-magnon and Neanderthal were distinct and not
combined.

Is this a whimsical approach more than a scientific one perhaps?
