Note: Generally speaking I have never liked dogs; they sniff your ***,
hump your leg, piss on the carpet, smell bad, chew up wooden flutes and
seem a more neurotic and aggressive species than say cats. However,
having mentioned some of these things they do indeed share
commonalities with humans. However, the theory of domestication and
convergent evolution is interesting.
Plus they bark, which is the feature of dogs I appreciate the least. I
live in a neighborhood where dogs are as popular and numerous as people.
It's like living in the middle of a kennel.
I don't blame dogs, however. I blame their owners. Dogs are simply
dumb animals that bark at every distraction. They can't help it.
Wolves would be preferable, since they don't bark. Wolves, however,
don't like people much.
Perhaps if more people were vegans, wolves would develop a taste for
them.
