If symbiosis is explained by preservation of like minded genes,Organisms are not malcious.
then how do you explain the following symbiotic relationships:
ants and acacia tree,
termites and gut bacteria that break down wood
nitrogen fixing bacteria and plants
lichen
DNA of mitochondria and DNA host cell differences
humans and domesticated animals
etc.
The real symbiosis is no more than another novel way
to bring in food / nurturing while protecting self from
non nurturing.
The symbiotic relationship helps each either through
nurturing or protection. (Two of the 4 options).

So a parasite doesn't "want" to damge its host. All it cares about is
getting its genes into the next generation. In fact, if it kills its host
too quickly, it will not transmit and die out.
So quite often the line is blurred. For instance oxpecker birrds remove
ticks and fleas from their hosts, but they will also take blood if hungry.
So they both benefit and harm their hosts.
