I don't agree - chimps are closer to humans than dogs in
practically every way you care to think of, just as their
relatedness might suggest. But then you haven't said
what you mean by consciousness, or how you are measuring
it, so the issue seems rather open to interpretation.
When was the last time you carried on a
conversation with your dog?
You think consciousness has to do with the ability to
verbalize? Do you also think that mute individuals
lack consciousness?
