IMO, the following leading question ought to be asked:

Why do people who purport to be rational allow themselves to be proccupied
with playing myopic mathematical games on grounds of an evolutionary process
that from every conceivable angle of perceiving directly observable evidence
has clearly and obviously already been proven to be a fact?

The so-called 'fact of evolution' - common descent, old earth, change over time
in the biota of the earth, etc. - is pretty well proven as a fact. But whether
natural selection is sufficient to account for this history is another
question. A question which can be addressed only by playing mathematical
games.
