Apart from any other criticisms of the research, I must point
out that drawing conclusions about "...one big and perhaps
humbling difference between [chimps and humans]..." on
the basis of the behavior of two chimps in extremely
artificial circumstances seems pretty ridiculous.
Did they try the experiment with two captive humans
as a control group? And if they did, would they pick
two like Mother Teresa and Mohandas Ghandi, or two
like Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly? Or perhaps
one from each group :^)
