If we (perhaps somewhat improperly) define "animal" a mobile,
macroscopic organism, then why are there no photosynthetic animals?
All photosynthetic orgamisms I know of are either immobile plants or
(possibly mobile) microorganisms?
Because a photosynthetic animal could never obtain enough energy to
survive unless it was spread so thin that it would immediately dry out
in the noon-day sun. Plants aren't as stupid as they look.
