Natural selection can act on human culture too
"Washington, Feb 19 (ANI): Natural selection can act on human culture as
well as on genes, says a new study which shows that cultural traits
affecting survival and reproduction evolve at a different rate than
other cultural attributes."
Shouldn't this kind of selection be given a different name? I know! How
about "cultural selection"? True, "selection by consequences" is a powerful
force...
Based on the description in the article (canoes), how about "product
quality control?"
Another once-noble discipline falls prey to "Too many dissertation
topics" syndrome.
