The Evolution of "Me"

Verily, it doth seem to me... that any discussion of evolution,
intelligence, or science is missing the point when the discussion fails to
examine the development of 'me'.
I am convinced that "there is someone at home" inside my skull. I am
persuaded in this delusion by what I call my "psychological continuity".
Psychological continuity is, memories, mental garbage, trivia, and other
baggage that I presently feel reside among the neurons inside my head. Which
'arcanae' and 'extranea' I can access 'easily' by a mechanism I do not fully
understand.
I am also persuaded by culture that others experience an identical
phenomenon. Proof of this last opinion is impossible to establish, although
I suggest that another being may witness this 'problem' for themselves,
(inside their own head).
