I think I stated that fertile (adult) individuals are selected in nature
to form reversible fitness mutualizing associations (populations) which
necessarily _minimizes_ entropy production per individual by maximizing
TDF (Total Darwinian Fitness) per associated Darwinian (mono-centric)
unit of selection, per population.
Sorry to misquote - you DID write 'minimized'. But that strikes me as even
more wrong than my mistaken version. Entropy production within organisms
is rather high, and usually even higher in successful, active organisms than in
those which are barely holding on to life. At least among r-selected organisms.
For K-selected organisms, NS may well lead to minimal entropy production -
which is why I objected to my version of your suggestion.
