This is just the sort of information the government
and the high-tech industry dosn't want the public
to know. Please take the appropriate precautions.

First of all, are you sure the computer company used
a _brominated_ flame retardant on your laptop? There
are several formulations out there, not all rely on
bromine, although it's considered to be one of the
safest.

Secondly, an individual such as yourself is
obviously a flame-magnet. Have you considered
how you will protect yourself if you circumvent
the safeguards put in place? Doing so will probably
void any warranty and furthermore will release the
company from all liability should you be injured or
perhaps killed while using the laptop.

If you're really serious about going ahead with
this, send me the laptop (with all the accessories,
cables, manuals, cases, and software) and I'll analyze
the coating and remove it for you at no cost except
for shipping and handling. I know, "you're too
generous" you'll say, but I feel given the dangers
inherent in the use of these materials, that I have
a duty to protect the community and therefore do it
as a public service.

Don't delay. Ship today. MT@GD.NYC.10001
