Speaking of "rubbish", and this is not entirely about
$HIT-madzu, there're some things buried below for you
to dig up (think of it as a treasure hunt :-)
THE GUILTY PARTIES________________________________________
1. Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc.
7102 Riverwood Dr.; Columbia, MD 21046
2. Dong Il Shimadzu Corp. (The Momma company, probably)
1 Nishinokyo-Kuwabaracho, Nakogy
Kyoto
604-8511
Japan
3. Beckman Coulter Inc (WAS: Beckman Instruments)
4300 N. Harbor Blve.; Fullerton, CA 92834-3100
4. Perkin Elmer
710 Bridgeport Ave.; Shelton, CT
5. Sargent-Welch Scientific Co.
911 Commerce Ct.; Buffalo Grove, IL 60089-2362
6. Krispy Kreme
6935 S. Lindgergh Blvd.; Saint Louis, MO 63125
7. Topcon America Corp. (WAS: International Scientific Instruments)
37 W. Century Rd.; Paramus, NJ 07652
COMPARISONS (Grab-Samples)_________________________________
_COMPANY_ _SALES/EMPLOYEE_ _# EMPLOYEES_ _FISCAL YEAR_
1 $171,200.00 250 2003
2 $235,207.00 7879 2003
3 $221,464.00 9,900 (!) 2003
4. $171,111.00 900 2001
5. $260,000.00 50 2002
6. $130,000.00 60 2003
7. $479,047.00 105 2003
This all is just jotted down from the screen without
much effort in confirming some of the numbers. It's
not _really_ a fair comparison, differing market
shares (... so I didn't find weapons of mass destruction;
we still did the right thing -- now it's time to start
stealing oil and sending in drugs, alcohol, guns, rock
and roll, and our industrial wastes so the poor will
have something to complain about besides the Bhagdad
Symphony playing music by dead guys, badly).
IMNSHO, a good argument could be made that Shimadzu is
over at the Krispy Kreme end of the playing field, along
with Perkin Elmer (I just heard that Kris isn't doing so
well -- donut sales are down; I guess all those new security
guys are consuming yogurt, green salads and apples, instead of
coffee and donuts :-)

Mark (Give a stupid man an answer and he's wise for
a day. Teach him to discover the answer and you
have a life-long alcoholic wise-ass who spends
his time explaining where the phrase "stupid
queer" came from -- remember, that word is gender
neutral and therefore politically correct .-)
