Hello,
I have not posted here before, so I feel I must introduce myself. I am
a student at Oregon State University. I am enrolled in a chemistry
class, and the term is alomost over. There is a problem I do not know
how to do, and it is posted below:
At an altitude of about 35 kilometers, the average concentrations of
O* and of CH4 are approximately 100 and 1E11 molecules cm-3
respectively, and the rate constant k for the above reaction is
approximately 4.0E-10 cm3 Molecules-1 s-1. Calculate the rate of
destruction of methane in molecules per second per cubic centimeter.
I am not just looking for the answer, btw, I am looking to learn how
to do these type of problems. Any help is appreciated.
