Hi~..everybody.....It is lucky for me to find this type of academic
forum. I am just a secondary 3 student . And I come from Hong Kong (I
says CANTONESE in my daily life).I have some problems about chemistry.
And I hope that you can solve my questions. thank a lot. Please forget
the grammatic mistakes because my first language is not ENGLISH (My
English is also poor)..! In fact , I want to know which country this
web forum belongs to.I will be glad to know which people of country I
am communicating with.If you reply to me, please use the words as
simple as possible .I am afraid that I am not able to understand your
whole meaning. :P
start.......now
1)My chemistry book write that:
The individual chemical
compounds that make up rocks called minerals. Rocks/minerals from
which we obtain metals are called
ores.
that means ore=rock?? And rock is composed of mineral??
can u also tell me the relationship and the difference among
mineral,ore, rock and metal??And also which is mixture and which is
compound??Thx
b)Would you also tell me the relationship and the difference among
limestone, calcite and calcium carbonate ??Also which is mixture and
which is compound??
2)My book also write that:
calcium hydroxide is often
called slaked lime.It is slightly soluble in water .The saturated
solution formed is called
limewater.[/color:490b33e161][/size:490b33e161]
Is calcium hydroxide=slaked lime=lime water??
3a) calcium carbonate----heat----->calcium oxide+carbon dioxide
b) calcium oxide+water--->calcium hydroxide
c) carbon dioxide+calcium hydroxide--->calcium carbonate+water
d)calciumcarbonate+carbondioxide+water->calcium hydrogencarbonate
e)calcium carbonate+dilute hydrochloric acid-->calcium
chloride+water+carbon dioxide
May you tell me which is physical change and which chemical change
from a-e??, thx a lot:P
