It is better to teach her how to find out for herself in a library (the
classical way) or on the internet. If you provide easy canned answers to
homework questions you are rewarding laziness. Helping when someone gets
stuck is one thing, but doing their homework for them is misguided. The
purpose of education is to teach youngsters how to learn and think!

The only circumstance where something really does need to be done is
where an old textbook contains an experiment that involves serious
dangers. I remember from my school days a book containing an experiment
to make a dye from beta-naphthalamine! Another had a tendency to form
peroxide ethers and detonate if the practical was split over two lessons...
