Sodium hydroxide absorbs moisture from the air. It has a specific gravity
    of 2.13.
Sodium carbonate does do much with the moisture normally found in the air.
It has a specific gravity of 2.53.

If the containers are transparent, and of the same dimensions, if you tamp
them both down, the sodium hydroxide should look "more full".
