I have a love-hate regard to answering to such posts. While I know that it
is pointless to try to persuade certain fundamental religionists that
evolution is a better explanation of the facts than intelligent design is, I
go ballistic when I see their nonsense spouted.
We have before us, important biological and medical demonstrations of evolu
tion at work. New strains of viruses, HIV for example, are being formed
under evolutionary pressure. We have the same thing happening with cancers
that become immune to chemothereputic chemicals. Bacteria evolve to overcome
antibiotic chemicals they never saw in nature. Certain moth species have
changed their color to overcome background soot. What else do these guys
want? What kind of an observation would drive them from their superstitions?
I know that I would have great difficulty trusting the theory of evolution
if it can be dmonstrated that human bones were found inside a dinosaur
skeleton indicating that it had eaten humans. Piltown man bones do not
count.
