And I'm arguing that there is indeed a distinction.

When chemicals go into solution, sometimes they have to change
chemically, sometimes they don't.

Certainly when you look at dissolution "generally" there is talk of
whether it is physical or chemical. I am arguing that you cannot tell
if it is physical or chemical (dissociation or ionization) unless you
actually look at when your solute is.
