We used silanized glassware in corrosion testing at one time. Since the
corrosion inhibitors
attach easily to many surfaces, not just metals, it was felt that
deactivating the walls of
the test cell would help approximate a practical system.

It seemed to work, a paper was written by Sören Marklund I believe. The
paper might or
might not give more information. It was likely presented at NACE or SPE.
I no longer have
a copy.
