Acetone peroxide ?

I believe that I heard on CNN that the explosive used
in the London tubes was Acetone peroxide. Without getting
into the preparation, and thus activating the spooks, I'm
curious about the structure of the stuff and if it is
anything like the peroxide formed in old rusty ether cans.
I would guess that it would be very dangerous to handle
and would be liable to explode while being carried about.
(I also wonder why there hasn't been an on-going discussion.)
