Re: Finish Chemistry Ph.D. or Not!?!?!

you can go to the US Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, VA (go to
www.uspto.gov, look for "jobs") to become a patent examiner in the
biochem/biomedical/biotech fields - you may want to look over classes 435
and 436 of the US Classification system (you can find that at the uspto web
site too) for subject matter that you might be familiar with - they have
been and will continue looking for biochem Phd graduates - there are already
lots of such graduates there now

I have a bs chem e degree, which was ok for my nearly 11 years there, but
now I am a contract patent searcher and biotech and biochem/biomed are HOT
there - if you know french and german, you might even try the European
patent office!
