Chemical synthesis of F2

I know it involves copious anhydrous HF and the permanganate ion.

I know it was developed by Karl Christe.

I know I've seen it as an exercise on an Olympiad-style problem ***.

But, Google as I may, I can't actually find the synthesis. Does anyone
happen to know it?
