Start with dilute acid and then look at the enamel - some enamels can be
easily etched.
(? I know it - it's suppose to be glass, but a common test was to etch the
surface with citric acid (~5% for 15min or so- I forget the exact
procedure) and visually rate the etch mark left)
H2O2 is definitely worth a try.
