To me, it seems like you are doing all the easy things rather than the
difficult things. Let me toss out a real life problem problem I would like
to solve. Can you do it?
I raise plants hydroponicly using a nutrient mix (inorganic chemicals) in
water. As these get used up, the pH drops. I have been compensating for that
by adding KOH. I would like that to be more automatic without provide all
kinds of feedback electronics.
MY approach is to add a great excess of calcium carbonate (marble chips) to
the reservoir. As the pH drops, the CaCO3 will presumably decompose into
bicarbonate and CO2 in water solution but open to the air. I could also use
MgCO3. Will your software tell me what the equilibrium pH would be under
those circumstances?
