I think it was a combination of two things:

a) Someone asked a reasonable technical question
for which Uncle Al had the answer.

b) Everybody gave the OP dumb answers like
"look in the CRC".

While he may have been able to resist (a) by
itself, I think it was (b) that forced him
over the edge. I wish I'd thought of it.
