Until two or three decades ago both cattle and farmhands generally had
more than a trace of arsenic. It was used in stock dips for ticks,
so the wet cattle dripped it all through the yards and the farmers got
soaked in it. When the dip bath was emptied it further contaminated
the grass all around. The soil around some older dip yards is so
contaminated that they are today fenced off to deny access to the lush
grass in those uncropped areas.

I think apricot kernels, used as part of some naturopathic treatments
for various cancers, are known to be relatively high in arsenic.
