Hollow Cathode Lamps for Non-Metals

Is it possible, at least in principle, to construct lamps for
non-metals such as sulfur and the halogens for as a source for atomic
absorption spectrophotometer. Lamps for phosphorus also exist which is
supposedly made conducting with an alloy of copper and phosphorous.
