is like saying that ethanol, ethyl acetate and acetic acid are the
same. Even your average layman might see that these three are totally
different materials, but they will believe the utter drivel spouted by
many unscrupulous marketers about the Vit A compounds and others.

They can add all that Vit. C from rose hips to the ethanol and 1) get a
healthy drink and 2) keep it from oxidizing to acetic acid and making the
ethyl acetate.
