Is there a reason for this?
"Why" questions are always interesting especially if you compare the
"hard" sciences (chemistry, physics) to biology. In the hard sciences,
"why" asks for a more fundamental understanding, while in biology,
"why" asks for a purpose.
Why is a zebra striped? Physicist: varying levels of pigmentation.
Biologist: evolutionary advantage.
