Alkali metal chlorides mostly too light. CaCl is denser but unpleasant
to handle. CsCl is expensive. Alkali metal sulfates are about the right
density but have much higher melting points. The right eutectic
combination might work, though. Are they safe at these temperatures?

Any other ideas?

NaBr, mp = 747 C, bp = 1392 C
KBr, mp = 734 C, bp = 1383 C

NaI, mp = 662 C, bp = 1304 C
KI, mp = 685 C, bp = 1324 C

Do some mixed melting point curves for maximum depression vs. cost and
density. Bp won't care. Iodides slowly nuisance air oxidize.
