Hi
This is a shamelss pitch, we are looking for help writing science
textbooks for grades 10 - 12. Without authors', editors' and
publishers' royalties the cost to print the books comes down
dramatically.
As a start we are writing books for South Africa but want to use these
as a basis to kickstart the same initiative elsewhere when they are
done (early next year).
We are looking for help writing the missing content, editing, or
recruiting volunteers to help. If you are interested in taking a look
please visit the Free High School Science Texts at www.fhsst.org and
help a good cause!
"Science education is about more than learning subjects like Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics... It is about learning to think and to
solve problems."
You just set back the whole of US education policy by 40 years to when
the public schools succeeded at educating everybody (less SOP 30%
dropouts, since the 1830s) and 20% of the kids were not drugged into
compliance (insensibility). Open source texts wiki-assembled by
working professionals threaten to create a student body absent
political sensibilities and dependencies. What social advocate would
tolerate that?
Literacy is treason.

Smidgeon of Methylene Blue plus glucose in alkaline water, half-filled
