* Polymeric disinfectants are a comparatively new group of
guanidine poylmeric compounds
* The characteristics that differentiate them from currently used
disinfectants are the following: harmless to humans and animals,
non-corrosive, non-toxic, odorless and colorless.
* Polymeric disinfectants demonstrate very high biocidal activity,
killing a wide variety of microbes. They do not provoke allergic
reactions.
* They are non-carcinogenic.
* They have long-lasting antimicrobial effects and without the
possiblity of antimicrobial resistance.
Polymeric compounds of guanidine are derivates of guanidine copolymers
that are modified with additional functional groups. One of the most
effective guanidine-based copolymers available on the market today is
offered by Soft Protector Ltd. and carries the trade name of Teflex.
