I need to produce basic copper carbonate, and from what I can remember this
could be done by "leaching" it with ammonia and ammonium carbonate and
precipitate it by boiling the liquor. But i've lost all my notes on the
reaction and I can't seem to find it on the web. It's just something I
picked up in Ullmans Dictionary waaay back... Does anybody know how this
reaction proceeds?

When I am king you will be first against the wall
You can use electrolysis to do it. For the Solution you can use Sodium
Carbonate, and then use copper anodes and cathodes. The anode will
deterate and form Copper Carbonate. Some copper will be on the cathode,
Keep it it might come in handy.
You can also use Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) and still get the
same thing. You will end up with a green looking powder.
