I am leeching a batch in ammonia and ammonium carbonate now, and it
sure is a pretty blue. Boiling produces black oxide that seems a lot
more dense than the usual precipitation, so I guess I should be happy
with what I've got.
Now this is just weird. I boiled down another batch today, and this time I
got a carbonate (aqua/turquoise in color). The only difference is that I
let the leaching-process run longer and with air bubbling through it. Not
sure why, but then again we're dealing with copper here. Guess I'll have to
try a batch with only ammonium carbonate and see what happens.
