That is if newtons gravity works. It is possible that the earth is
throwing things away at some rate to what it is also attracting. A
gravity and an inertia so to speak.

Wrong! If the Earth were to stop rotating then the day would be one year long. If, however, it managed one rotation per year then the condition you specified would occur. There would be one side permanently dark and on side permanently light (assuming no nutations.)
