Dear zepp.maxoid:Or go to some one above the offending sender. Several years ago, I read a very offending post sent from a campus in Texas. I found the e-mail address of the President of the school, and forwarded the message to him. I got a reply thanking me for bringing it to his attention, and promising to take care of it. OTOH, when Archie Pu was sending from Dartmouth U., messages to the President of that school got no result. But then Archie made public comments about the President, and was booted out.

Is there any moderation in usenet groups, like sci.chem?
Some newsgroups are moderated.
I saw some spamming "threads" (i don't know if you call
em like that)
Call a spade a spade. Report them to their ISP if they violate the "rules" of this society. Some won't care, some will drop the offenders access to post.
.
I see from the header that you are posting from google.groups. You can see "Original Message" and look for the line: "X-Complaints-To:". Forward the message and the header to the email address that follows.
