Re: Please suggest how to get rid of fruit flies with access

For instance, since I'm in Norway, in northern part of
Europe, there's not very much use in referring to products
only available in US stores.

**Find out for sure what they are.** (Take dead flies to
university or college entomology dept.; government Dept of
Natural Resources or Agriculture or ???; professional
insect control company.)

Are your flies indigenous to Norway? (Bananas in Norway?)

On the assumption that they are NOT, find out their
temperature sensitivity and then ...

Wait for the weather to to get colder. Clean your plants
well (no bugs) and move them to a safe, clean place (unless
they can withstand the cold). Rent a hotel room for a
weekend (Friday-Sunday). Chill your house to frostiness or
a temperature at which it is known the flies and their eggs
do not survive. Don't forget to leave them no refuge: turn
off refrigerator so they don't find a warm compressor motor
and stuff like that. Reheat house; bring back plants.

From above, ask entomologist about natural predators of your
flies, e.g., maybe a spider. Import correct spider species
and sprinkle around your house.
