And purely by accident. The knowledge that the Hebrews had of genetic
iheritance is summed up in the story of Jacob selectively breeding
striped and spotted sheep. Read it in Genesis. It is wrong a primitive.
The Hebrews did not have the knowledge to formulate a human breeding
program as such. It is strange that the customs of the Jews has conduced
to turning out smart folks, but it is a coincidence that it is so.
