Hi,
I am suprised that so little has been made from the recent advances in
super-conductivity. Materials have recently been made that can carry high
currents at liquid nitrogen temperature, and lots of new technology can
spring from that. And the Human Genome is complete. And stem cells. I say
there is more new technology on the near future horizon than ever.

I can remember when computers were used mostly to "compute", and were big
enough to fill a room and took nearly their own power plant to run.. So
when they could be made small enough to fit on a desk top and cheap enough
that every family could have one and ran on a little power, some top
computer company leaders said "but why would anyone except for a few people
WANT to have one? And who would want one in their house?"
But while better at "calculation" than ever, after they became linked to
telephone lines, they became mostly "communication devices" with e-mail and
the WWW, and then everyone wanted one.
