In the work of George Lakoff I have found a possible explanation
of the existence of Liberals and Conservatives, a problem that
has troubled me for years.
http://www.wwcd.org/issues/Lakoff.html
Good. But now I have another problem:
Tonight, on the News Hour, we were shown the
Social Security Lock Box: a four-drawer file
cabinet with a sturdy combination lock.
(I was shocked at the lack of security.)
Equally puzzling was the interview of Pete Peterson,
http://www.concordcoalition.org/home/petersonbio.html
who expressed great concern about the fact that the Lock Box
has been looted. He said the money had all been spent!
So, having got an answer to Libs and Cons, I'm now stuck
with a new problem:
* Why does so erudite and distinguished an authority as
Peter G. Peterson believe that my granddaughter must
make up the money stolen from the Lock Box, and leave
the impression that there will be no Social Security
for todays young workers -- a belief attested by
young workers then interviewed?
My problem is NOT the Social Security facts.
My problem is the Peter G. Peterson phenomena.
Puzzled,
