You still have a link on your 'Babylonian Woe' page to my
old Xoom site, which, of course, went out of service long
time ago.
Both sites contain english and translated text. Read Mr.
Astle's letter on the yamaguchy site. How do I respond to a
message that shows up as posting that everyone can see ?

JCT: I've published it so everyone now knows. Thank you for
the links.

I'll take Ulrich von Beckerath any day (even in the
atrocious John Zube translation) over Astle's bland stuff;
he even seems innumerate, seeing he mentions no figures
whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JCT: The king borrowed X pounds of gold onto the island, the
king owed X+I and taxed his subjects X+I even though only X
was brought onto the island.
Astle defined the process and clarified ancient history
exciting events, no matter how "bland" you think his writing
is. Where else can you find out Alexander the Great had to
wait before getting his loan conquer the world. Alexander
the Great Debtor.

I've never heard of Beckerath so I'll invite you to tell me
what he writes about that Astle hasn't covered and where you
think we can find his best.
