After seven times seven plus one years, the land reverts to the
families who had it first. The Yovayl or Jubilee. Every seventh year,
the -schmeetah- or relase forgives the debts.
The land presumably belongs to G-D, but the produce belongs to he who
works it, except for the corners of the fields which are for the
landless to reap. So a periodic redestribution of the land was
prescribed in Torah law. However the produces belongs to he who worked
the land (except for the corners).
