The question, you think of as rhetorical, is baffling to me. I can
only imagine that you and I are operating on different definitions
of "medical immortality". "Medical immortality", the term, refers
to clinically-controlled (and/or reversed) senesence.

That definition is somewhat vague. Given the perfect, it would
mean "without any accidents, you'd not die." But nothing's perfect,
there are accidents, and there will likely be all sorts of diseases
and the like that can kill even after senesence prevention gets out
of its infancy.
