People in those situations are extremely vulnerable. If someone makes even a
subtle error somewhere along the line the results can be more harmful than
beneficial. On larger scale, society is the patient and a percentage of the
people unfortunate enough to be in that position represents the level or
severity of sickness of the larger patient.
