This is from YOUR source. Please note column labelled "Dept Held
by Public" (otherwise known as the public debt). From 1997
(B.J. Clinton) until 2001 (Pinocchio Bush), the dept to the public
was decreasing though total debt _was_ rising (SS trust fund).
I do not pretend to know why the total debt increased between
2000 and 2001 and I was under the impression that there was a
slight decrease. But let's not quibble: Let's look at the deltas:
change in total debt at start of
98 - 113B
99 - 130B
00 - 18B
01 - 133B
02 - 421B
03 - 555B
04 - 596B
obviously 18 is not zero, but it is pretty close by comparison.
change in public debt at start of
98 - (56)
99 - (97)
00 - (231)
01 - (66) less and less each year. then:
02 - +214
03 - 371
04 - 383
The point is that the Clinton administration's policies were reducing the
debt and Pinnochio's policies are bankrupting the US government.
This bankruptcy and a depression are the goal of the far right
Pinnochio administration.
