?? Really? Compared to what? Corporate CEOs average what, 100 times
as much as a nurse. Or is it 1000 times yet?
That just means that what a nurse does is not 100% quantifiable.
I should think this a comfort.
But college students in
the US are still majoring in Art History and English Lit and in
various ethnic studies, and then complaining about how they can't find
jobs when they graduate. Nurses have LOTS of job offers.
But not at a wage that will get more Americans to become nurses.
You cannot buy temperament, no matter how you try.

Some countries do seem to train more science/medical students than the
US. And send their grads to the US for graduate school. Why don't
more US kids major in math or science or medicine?
Because they can't get into med school, and they can see perfectly
well that aside from billing-mill doctors and shyster lawyers, the
guys who get the really big bucks are never the mathematicians or
scientists, but rather the salesmen, the cheats, the crooks, the
liars, the grafters, the con men. Like the Bushes and Cheneys, the
Donald, the Ken Lays, the Carly Fiorinas, etc., etc.

mean anything.
Mathematicians and scientists participate for the love of the work.
